THE HEART
BEHIND
LASYA
Sharing the grace of Bharatanatyam while creating a joyful space for self - expression.
The name Lasya itself means grace. the essence of dance that flows through every step we take.
Our logo brings this meaning to life. The lotus, a symbol of purity and beauty, represents growth and blossoming through art. And the MUDRA, woven into the design, reflects our deep connection to tradition, storytelling, and expression.
Together, they embody what Lasya stands for: a space where movement becomes grace, tradition meets creativity, and every dancer blooms.
We’re proud to present our logo, and with it, a renewed vision for sharing the joy of dance.
OUR
STORY
Lasya has been years in the making. Dance has given me so much - resilience, grace, and a deep connection to culture - and now it’s my turn to give back.
At Lasya Performing Arts, my goal is to guide and inspire the next generation of dancers, while keeping alive the beauty and depth of Bharatanatyam.

OUR
PHILOSoPHY
At Lasya, we believe dance is more than movement.
it’s a way of life. Rooted in the rich tradition of Bharatanatyam, our classes are built on values of discipline, respect, and creativity, while nurturing each dancer’s unique journey. We keep our class sizes small so every student feels seen and supported. With a balance of structure and play, we encourage dancers to not only master technique but also to understand the stories, emotions, and meanings behind each step.
Above all, we believe in learning without pressure. Dance should bring joy, confidence, and cultural connection - whether you’re a child discovering rhythm for the first time, a teen exploring self-expression, or an adult reconnecting with your roots.
Lasya is a safe and welcoming space where tradition meets creativity, and where every dancer can grow at their own pace.
What MAKEs US DIFFERENT

1. What style of dance do you teach?
We primarily teach Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form.2. Do I need prior dance experience to join?
Not at all! Our classes are open to complete beginners as well as those with previous dance training.3. What should I wear to class?
Comfortable clothing you can move in is best. For Bharatanatyam, leggings or salwar bottoms with a fitted top work well. As you progress, we’ll guide you on traditional attire if needed.4. Do I need to buy bells (salangai) right away?
No. Beginners don’t need bells immediately — we’ll let you know when you’re ready for them.5. How big are the classes?
We keep class sizes small to ensure every student gets individual attention.6. Do you offer trial classes?
Yes! Your first class is complimentary so you can experience the teaching style before enrolling.7. Are there performance opportunities?
Yes, students are encouraged to take part in showcases and cultural events throughout the year — but participation is always optional.8. How often are the classes held?
Currently, classes run weekly (with age-based groups). Special workshops may be added during the year.9. Can adults start Bharatanatyam, or is it only for kids?
Absolutely — it’s never too late to begin! Many of our students are adults who are reconnecting with dance or discovering it for the first time.10. What values do you emphasise in teaching?
Beyond steps and technique, we focus on discipline, respect, and joy in learning — creating a safe, supportive space for everyone.
